Galp registers rise in EV charging sessions
The brand has registered a 60% increase in charging sessions for the first quarter of the year and is on track to surpass its 2022’s numbers.
Galp recorded 196,413 electric vehicle charging sessions across its Portugal network during 2023’s first quarter, a 60% increase on last year’s numbers.
Between January and March, the brand has registered an intensification of demand throughout its service station network. With these results, the firm is on track to beat 2022’s record of 600,000 charging sessions.
The expansion of charging points has contributed to this growth trend, with investment projects aimed at an overall goal of 10,000 points in Portugal and Spain by 2025. The Galp network will experience a new boost in the coming weeks, with 126 new charging locations to be deployed across the brand's footprint in Portugal.
Galp currently operates more than 2,600 charging points, with an installed capacity of 45MW, and expects to have 5,000 points installed in Portugal and Spain by the end of 2023.
