KNITTEL Energie has installed 14 myflexbox parcel lockers at its AVIA stations in Hesse, Bavaria and Thuringia, with more locations planned. Customers can receive, send and return parcels around the clock with carriers including Amazon, DPD, GLS, UPS and FedEx. Recipients get a notification from the carrier and collect their parcels directly at the station.

The lockers are already in operation at sites including two in Fulda, as well as Hanau-Steinheim, Seligenstadt and Lindau.

“Gas stations are increasingly evolving into multifunctional mobility and service hubs. Anyone who fills up, shops, grabs a coffee, or uses the car wash will soon be able to handle package services right on-site,” said Ulrich von Keitz, Managing Director at KNITTEL. Fellow Managing Director Udo Weber described the partnership as a “true win-win situation”.

Founded in 1871, KNITTEL operates around 80 AVIA stations across Germany and is a shareholder of the AVIA brand.

myflexbox, founded in 2018, runs more than 3,000 parcel lockers in over 1,300 cities and municipalities in Germany and Austria, which it describes as the largest carrier-neutral network in both countries. Under a strategic partnership with Amazon, all myflexbox lockers in Germany will be integrated into Amazon’s delivery infrastructure.
