Pilot expands travel centers and EV charging ahead of summer
The travel center operator adds new locations, grows its fast-charging network and upgrades amenities to support peak travel demand.
Pilot is preparing for the summer travel season with investments across its travel center network, including new site openings, store modernizations and the expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
The company recently opened new travel centers in Massachusetts and Florida while completing upgrades at 18 locations across the United States and Canada. The new sites added 112 truck parking spaces, 15 diesel fueling lanes and 32 gasoline pumps, strengthening its capacity to serve both professional drivers and motorists.
As part of its ongoing New Horizons modernization program, the company continues to renovate locations with updated layouts, improved restrooms and expanded foodservice options. The strategy is aimed at enhancing the customer experience as road travel activity increases during the summer months.
Pilot is also expanding its EV charging network. During the first half of 2026, the company added charging infrastructure at 50 locations across 25 states, further extending its coast-to-coast fast-charging footprint.
“Whether you're stopping for a charge, a full tank, or a fresh meal this summer, we are making the most of every mile for every traveler on the open road,” said Sean Marrero, President of Retail at Pilot.
Alongside investments in fueling and charging infrastructure, Pilot is broadening its foodservice offering through the continued rollout of its Pilot eats concept, which is expected to reach nearly 400 locations. The company has also expanded grab-and-go formats and increased the number of quick-service restaurants operating around the clock.
