Q8, Ionity sign deal to push EV mobility
Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8) has signed an agreement with e-mobility experts Ionity to join their project of building an extensive pan-European High-Power Charging network of 400 stations by 2020.
Ionity, a joint venture company formed by world's top car manufacturers to boost e-mobility in Europe, has welcomed Q8 to its growing group of retailers open to install EV charging stations, according to a Q8 press release.
The sites will have high-speed chargers that can charge an electric car in less than 20 minutes for a distance of 300 km, where at the current charging stations it still takes up to 90 minutes, according to a company release.
“Q8 strives to become a 'mobility hub', aimed at every form of mobility. We will therefore focus strongly on innovation in order to continue to grow in a changing sector,” said Koen Vankelst, Senior Operations Director at Kuwait Petroleum Q8.
A total of seven Q8 sites in Belgium will after electric charging infrastructure after the summer.
