TanQyou has opened a new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in Leeuwarden, adding 38 charging points next to SC Cambuur’s Kooi Stadium as demand for EV infrastructure continues to grow in the Netherlands.

The charging site includes eight ultra-fast chargers capable of delivering up to 400 kW, alongside 30 AC charging points designed for longer parking sessions. The facility is open 24 hours a day and available to all EV drivers.

According to TanQyou, a modern EV can typically charge from 20% to 80% battery capacity in around 15 minutes when connected to a 400 kW charger, depending on vehicle capabilities and charging conditions. The company said the AC charging points are intended for visitors spending extended periods in the area, including attendees of SC Cambuur home matches and visitors to the nearby Elfstedenpark.

Located at an established destination that already attracts significant visitor traffic, the project aims to strengthen regional charging infrastructure while supporting the ongoing adoption of electric mobility.

The opening marks another step in TanQyou’s expansion of EV charging services, with the company focusing on accessible charging locations that combine high-power charging for drivers on the move with longer-duration charging options for local visitors.
