USA: TravelCenters of America to further develop the Minit Mart c-stores

TravelCenters of America's CEO Tom O'Brien says company's $750 million investment in the development of the convenience store brand during last 5 years is just the beginning.

Through the last five years TravelCenters of America has made major efforts to improve the Minit Mart brand. Currently, 215 of their 228 convenience stores have been updated, reports CSPnews.

"The gasoline branding and the Minit Mart branding elements will largely be completed by the end of the second quarter for all of those stores," said O'Brien during a first-quarter earnings report.

O´Brien pointed out that the development of their current c-store network is not the last stage of the company´s operations.

"I don't want to give the impression that that is the last step; in fact, that is sort of the first step. We've got to have the right brand, the right gasoline brand, and then we start to build the business,” he added.

TravelCenters has carried out an aggressive expansion campaign since it started in 2011. The company now has more than 250 full-service travel centers operating under the TravelCenters of America, TA, Petro Stopping Centers and Petro brands.
