Shell’s chief of projects leaves post after long company career
Global energy company advances its plan to integrate its technical divisions directly into its core business lines.
Shell has announced that Robin Mooldijk, President of Projects and Technology, will step down on 28 February 2026 after a 35‑year career with the company. His departure comes as Shell advances its plan to integrate its technical divisions directly into its core business lines, reducing the Executive Committee from nine to eight members.
The restructuring aims to simplify the organisation and place technical capabilities closer to day‑to‑day operations across Integrated Gas, Upstream, Downstream and Renewables, supporting Shell’s broader drive for cost competitiveness.
Chief executive Wael Sawan praised Mooldijk’s “significant contribution,” highlighting his leadership in merging Shell’s Refining and Chemicals units into a single Chemicals and Products organisation and in overseeing the latest integration of technical functions across the business.
Shell says the changes will help position the company for the future as it continues to streamline its structure.
