Jacksons adds cardless fleet payments at 341 stores

The family-owned chain operating across eight western U.S. states now lets commercial fleets pay for fuel through mobile authorization tied to each driver and vehicle.

Commercial fleets can now pay for fuel without a physical card at all 341 Jacksons Food Stores locations, after the retailer joined Piston’s payment network. The option went live across the chain and works alongside the payment methods the retailer already accepts.

Drivers approve and pay for fuel through secure mobile authorization. Each transaction is tied to a specific driver and vehicle, so fleet operators can track spending in real time. The system connects directly to the point of sale, which is meant to reduce fraud, and the provider says it also removes several intermediaries from each transaction.

“Commercial fueling is an important part of our business, and the way fleets pay is changing,” said Cory Jackson, President of Jacksons Food Stores. “Working with Piston helps us keep pace with that shift and makes Jacksons a practical stop for fleets using modern payment technology.”

Jacksons opened in 1975 as a single service station in Caldwell, Idaho. Today it is a family-owned convenience store operator with locations in Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, California, Montana and Utah, under the Jacksons Food Stores and ExtraMile by Jacksons brands.
