The charge point operator has introduced Osprey Go, a new app experience featuring Autocharge technology that enables compatible EV drivers to start charging automatically without cards or app authentication.
Osprey Charging Network has launched Osprey Go, a new charging experience built around Autocharge technology, making it the largest electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the UK to offer the functionality across its infrastructure.
The new platform allows drivers to plug in their vehicles and begin charging automatically once their account has been configured. After the initial setup, users no longer need to authenticate sessions by opening an app or tapping a payment card, streamlining the charging process.
According to Osprey, Osprey Go is designed to reduce friction at the charger while giving customers greater visibility and control through the company's mobile app. Users can view live charger availability, access receipts, track pricing and receive location-specific offers and discounts.
The platform also introduces dynamic pricing capabilities, automatically applying the best available Osprey rate for a given location and time. The company said this feature is intended to simplify pricing while ensuring customers receive the most favorable charging tariff available through the app.
The launch reflects the increasing role of software in shaping the EV charging experience, as charge point operators seek to differentiate their networks through convenience, personalization and digital services rather than infrastructure alone.
